AIRTech Partners with M.H. Stallman Company to Fabricate BeBetter Foam™ on East Coast
Providence, RI (PRWEB) August 07, 2014 -- Advanced Innovative Recovery Technologies, Inc. (AIRTech) today announced that it has partnered with M.H. Stallman Company to significantly expand manufacturing capacities for its BeBetter Foam™ product. With plans to pour and fabricate the foam at M.H. Stallman’s facilities in Providence, RI and Amsterdam, NY, this marks the first East Coast manufacturing line for AIRTech, which will also continue production at its California plant.
BeBetter Foam™ (previously branded Smartfoam) represents the next generation of green materials for application to variety of products and markets. It is a bio-based urethane, made from American-grown renewable resources, and has the highest carbon-negative values in the foam industry. It contains no harmful VOCs, no HCFCs, no CFCs and uses no TDI, so BeBetterFoam is absolutely inert to the environment. BeBetterFoam comes in a range of compressions, densities, pore sizes and colors to meet most end use specifications.
BeBetterFoam was first introduced in 2010 by AIRTech in response to the BP oil spill, and it rapidly took over the market for open cell oil absorbing foams. Unlike other absorbent pads and booms used in oil remediation and recovery, BeBetterFoam is the only material made from renewable polyols that produces no harmful emissions during manufacturing. BeBetterFoam pads and booms are used extensively to absorb and reclaim oil from water and are approved for use in all waterways by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). BeBetter Foam™ is designed to draw the oil deep into its cell structure and hold it there until it can be safely reclaimed. It is the only truly green foam technology available today for oil recovery.
After this runaway success in the oil recovery market, the engineers at AIRTech developed a first of its kind rigid foam core for surfboards to eliminate the harmful release of toxins into the water when the core is exposed due to damaged boards.
BeBetter Foam's most recent product addition is a line of soap-infused, non-mildewing household and personal cleansing sponges available at retail locations nationwide under the Pura Naturals brand.
“We are honored to be working with the AIRTech group to bring their innovative foam manufacturing to the East Coast, which should help open additional U.S. and European markets,” says Jim Stallman, president of the M.H. Stallman Company. “BeBetterFoam is an amazing material, its base formulations come from natural renewable resources, and it is safe to work around, so we can foam anywhere. Our product design engineers love that they can adjust the formulation to create an endless variety of products to meet almost any customer specification, from a soft, viscoelastic foam to rigid surfboard blanks.
“We will introduce BeBetterFoam to our extensive customer base, across a wide range of markets, and with the help of AIRTech, lead a green revolution in medical, consumer, automotive, military, sports and leisure products. BeBetterFoam is the future of open celled foam products not only for oil recovery, but for a wide range of other uses.”
Jim Kordenbrock, president of AIRTech said, “M.H. Stallman Company brings 60 years of foam fabrication and design expertise to our team, and we look forward to expanding BeBetterFoam’s reach into new markets. We are passionately focused on cleaning the Earth's waterways by designing and manufacturing products that positively contribute to the environment. Our goal is to ‘Be Better’, by making better products, and in turn, supporting initiatives that focus on renewing compromised bodies of water.
“We are excited to partner with companies like M.H. Stallman that share our vision and commitment to these clean water projects, both large and small. Our customers can rest assured that their purchase of a product containing BeBetterFoam will make a positive impact on the environment and will help fund clean water initiatives."

About AIRTech Inc.
AIRTech Inc. (airtechfoam.com) was conceived in May of 2010 in response to the BP oil spill that occurred on April 20, 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico. The oil absorbing properties of their non-toxic, elastic foam seemed like a natural solution to the problem. The urgency of the situation in the Gulf, and the realization that these, and other types of spills happen every year all over the world, made it clear there was a tremendous opportunity presenting itself. With the help of a team of engineers, the group created a unique system utilizing the foam to clean up oil slicks in open water and anywhere else they may occur.
