HIPOWER SYSTEMS Closes Sale of 14 Natural Gas Generators to Worldwide Power Products; Partners with PSI for Extensive Post-Sale Training of Company Representatives

The order included four each of HIPOWER SYSTEMS’ HRNG-85, HRNG-165 and HRNG-230 generators, as well as two HRNG-300 generators. With these purchases, WPP covered a broad spectrum of HIPOWER SYSTEMS “rental ready” natural gas generator solutions, from the compact and highly portable (3000 lbs.), 66kW HRNG 85 to the more robust 235 kW HRNG 300, which is also available in a towable configuration.
The three-day HIPOWER SYSTEMS/PSI training course, held at WPP’s world headquarters in Houston, included outdoor, hands-on demonstrations and training in addition to class instruction.
As part of the acquisition, WPP representatives received comprehensive training on all aspects of the units and their drivetrains, conducted by representatives of HIPOWER SYSTEMS and generator engine manufacturer Power Solutions International (PSI). Assisting with the training from HIPOWER SYSTEMS were Raimond Castillo (Oil and Gas Sales Director), Darryl Ryder (Director of Product Support) and Ron Laroe (Regional Service Manager).

During the three-day training course, attendees were led through a variety of instruction and demonstrations. Components of the training included:
• An extensive introduction from HIPOWER SYSTEMS regarding its products.
• A detailed technical explanation from PSI about its equipment and systems. PSI’s training covered the fit, form and function of the various engine components and fuel delivery system, followed by an introduction to the engine’s E-Controls software.
• A hands-on demonstration of the engine and its software. During this exercise, course attendees were led through a demonstration of the paralleling capability of HIPOWER SYSTEMS’ generators, including the ability to parallel one or more natural gas generators with a diesel generator.
• A session, led by PSI Product Manager Darrin Moorman, focusing on application-specific considerations related to utilizing these engines in the oil fields. One aspect of this discussion was the use of well-head gas for fuel and the importance of analyzing the gas before incorporating it into an engine.
