Kressly, MD, FAAP has been named President of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Prior to accepting her role as President of the Pennsylvania Chapter, AAP, Dr. Kressly served as the Secretary and Treasurer for two years, the Vice President for two years, and was the Pediatric Council Chair for five years. She also worked as the Chapter Consultant for matters related to the business of pediatric practice and Health Information Technology. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as President of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics at this pivotal moment,” says Dr. Kressly. “Our chapter has a long history of innovative programs which advocate for children and pediatricians.The future of pediatricians and the children we are privileged to care for, depend on us to speak up and give them a voice.”

In addition to her work with the Pennsylvania Chapter of the AAP, Dr. Kressly has been a tireless advocate for children, serving as a member of the Council on Clinical Information Technology and the Section on Administration and Practice Management of the AAP, and the Quality Improvement Innovation Network and Pediatric Research in the Office Setting. She is involved in PA HIT efforts including the PA-eHealth Initiative, served as advisor to the PA Regional Extension Center vendor selection committee, and was the original beta tester for the real-time bidirectional PA-SIIS. She also maintains a Pediatric-related Information Technology blog, that discusses topics important to pediatric practices using EHR technology.
