HIPOWER SYSTEMS Announces Final Offering of 2014’s TPEM (Tier 4 FLEX) Credits to Give Generator Buyers Purchasing Flexibility
(PRWEB) August 14, 2014 -- HIPOWER SYSTEMS, a manufacturer of power-generation and power distribution equipment in the U.S. and Canada, today announced it has 100 remaining 2014 TPEM or “Tier 4 FLEX” credits available for a variety of engines including John Deere and Yanmar. Manufacturers with FLEX credits can sell their customers Tier 3 generators and the purchaser avoids any requirement to upgrade to the final Tier 4 specification for the life of the engine.
HIPOWER SYSTEMS’ has until December 31, 2014 to sell Tier 3 Flex Generators in conjunction with these credits, but HIPOWER SYSTEMS President Rafael Acosta said he expects them to be gone long before that date. “To my knowledge, in the generator industry we are one of the few original equipment manufacturers that still has a large stock of 2014 FLEX credits,” said Acosta. “We intentionally banked them with the knowledge that they would be beneficial for our customers as we headed towards the final Tier 4 deadline. We encourage customers interested in TPEM-eligible generators to call immediately.”
All of the generators in which HIPOWER SYSTEMS can use the FLEX credits are rated for prime power and meet the EPA criteria for use in continuous application. Specific models eligible for the HIPOWER SYSTEMS FLEX credits include the HRYW-25, HRYW-50, HRJW-175, HRJW-205 and and HRJW-310 and range in power rating from 25 to 310 KVA Prime Power.
“The EPA took a sensible and fair approach to the Tier 4 phase-in with these FLEX credits,” said Acosta. “Companies that purchase Tier 3 generators through the TPEM program are still upgrading to a higher Tier level, yet they can avoid the added purchase cost and higher operating and maintenance costs of running with Tier 4 engines for the foreseeable future.”
Acosta indicated that with the adoption deadline for the Tier 4 Final standard on the horizon, he feels comfortable the government will not limit the sale of replacement parts on Tier 3 engines. “Customers can confidently purchase our eligible Tier 3 generators knowing they will be able to use them over the long haul,” Acosta concluded.
