Expanding our national diagnostic testing centers to better serve Medicare patients is a much needed addition to this marketplace.
Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) August 06, 2014
Wimbledon Health Partners, an on-site diagnostic testing company that provides physicians with vascular, echocardiogram and NCV testing with the educational, compliance, and marketing tools necessary to provide quality, state-of-the-art, in-office testing procedures, recently announced their plan to launch on-site diagnostic testing into the Medicare marketplace, beginning in the fourth quarter of 2014. Expanding into the Medicare marketplace has been necessitated by the growing need of physicians treating patients under Medicare to have lifesaving diagnostic testing available conveniently at their locations.
According to the United States Census Bureau, 47.5 million Americans were enrolled with Medicare in 2010 and within this market, “three out of four adults over the age of 65 have multiple chronic conditions,” states the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Recognizing that early detection is crucial Medicare has set suggestive guidelines for individuals over the age of 65 who have not been previously screened to undergo ultrasound screenings for abdominal aortic aneurysms. Individuals aged 65 to 75 who present with common risk factors, such as: smoking at least 100 cigarettes in their lifetime, family history of AAA, hypertension, dyslipidemia, obesity, glucose intolerance and/or a family history of diabetes are eligible to receive this screening.
In order to prevent complications from occurring in relation to a number of common conditions, Wimbledon Health Partners prompted the creation of a new testing program designed exclusively for the Medicare market. Medicare patients have a unique need for in-office diagnostic testing that can now be completed within the comfort of their physicians practice through Vascular Centers of America (VCOA).
Beyond screenings, Medicare patients will have the ability to experience the convenience of on-site diagnostic testing that was previously unavailable to them through Vascular Centers of America (VCOA). Patients presenting with symptoms that put them at risk for vascular diseases such as heart attack, stroke and peripheral arterial disease (PAD) indicate a need for diagnostic testing. As always, patients will be met with unparalleled standards in patient care through the availability of in-office diagnostic testing.
Wimbledon Health Partners Cardiology Medical Director Brad Artel, M.D. stated, “Expanding our national diagnostic testing centers to better serve Medicare patients is a much needed addition to this marketplace. In-office diagnostic testing through VCOA provides Medicare patients with increased care through early detection, prevention and treatment for patients suffering from ailments related to common conditions such as diabetes, obesity and hypertension.”
