Hudson, WI (PRWEB) August 10, 2014 -- Today, Procentive, an electronic health records (EHR) company specializing in practice management software for behavioral health, mental health and chemical dependency providers, announces a unique partnership with People Incorporated’s Artability program to raise awareness and support artists with mental illness. Procentive will display artwork from the program to mental health providers around the country thousands of times daily, bringing beauty to their desktops while raising awareness for an important program helping destigmatize mental illness.
“Everyday, thousands of mental health providers rely on Procentive to manage their client records,” explains Procentive CEO, Randy Zimmerman. “Now, in partnership with the Artability program, we will feature rotating artwork from artists with mental illness every time they log in. Therapists will have instant access to information about the artist and the Artability program which is open to any adult (18+) with a mental health diagnosis. By making this artwork a part of the daily lives of mental health providers across the country, we will be raising awareness and creating literally millions of impressions a year for an important program that is making a difference in the lives of artists with mental illness.”
“The Artability program offers adult artists who have a mental health diagnosis a safe and supportive environment where they can explore art, develop their artistic skills and build confidence as individuals and as artists in the community,” notes Katie Burns, Artability Program Coordinator. “Our fine arts workshops are led by accomplished artists who have experience instructing fine arts classes. The series of workshops includes painting in oils, acrylics and watercolors, drawing in charcoal or oil pastels, writing in poetry, fiction and non-fiction writing, and more. Workshops are held throughout the year, and culminate in an annual fall art show and sale which connects approximately 100 artists with the greater community. Participating in the arts can be very therapeutic, and the art often represents the voice of the artists themselves. We hope that through this partnership with Procentive, we will be able to reach more mental health service providers who can share the Artability program with clients who could benefit from participating.”
