TRUEGRID Pavers Announces New Eco-Friendly Parking Lots for Stripes Convenience Stores
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) August 16, 2014 -- Houston-based TRUEGRID Pavers, manufacturer of eco-friendly permeable paving, announced completion of the first environmentally safe parking area in Refugio, Texas. Stripes Convenience Stores, a forward thinking retailer with over 1240 company-owned or contracted locations, chose the environmentally safe option for their 120,000 over-the-road truck parking by using TRUEGRID. The pavers are made from 100% recycled post-consumer plastic that is safe and durable and helps with stormwater management and dust control.
The new parking lot uses the leading edge green technology and controls erosion, manages stormwater runoff and reduces heat and dust cloud problems. TRUEGRID was installed over a gravel base and then filled with gravel creating a porous dry parking surface with stormwater retention underneath. A separate detention/retention pond was not needed and 100 % of the land was utilized resulting in more parking spots.
“By using TRUEGRID for this project, Stripes rescued over 82 tons of plastic from the landfill and has a better lot for their customers than asphalt or concrete.
