CTC Plastics Announces Addition of New 92mm Co-rotating Twin Screw Compounding Machine
Dayton, OH (PRWEB) August 11, 2014 -- CTC Plastics located in Dayton, Ohio, is pleased to announce the addition of their new 92 millimeter co-rotating twin screw compounding machine to their ISO 9001 and ISO/EIC 17025 certified facility.
The addition of the twin screw allows CTC Plastics to provide customers with enhanced toll compounding further adding to their formulating, blending and testing services.
The co-rotating twin screw compounding machine has two rotating assemblies. This concept provides for a much higher mixing action allowing CTC the ability to compound in higher percentages of fill to a given compound. The addition of the twin screw brings an additional 25 million pounds of annual compounding capacity to CTC allowing them to support additional business in markets such as automotive, construction, housewares, lawn and garden, retail, and consumer goods.
Powering the 92 millimeter co-rotating twin screw, is a 420 HP motor, with a L/D ratio of 48:1. The approximate throughput for the machine when compounding a mineral, mostly commonly being talc and calcium, is 2,200 pounds per hour. Pellet output can be in the form of strand cut, water ring or underwater. The machine features single or double side feed of mineral introduction into the line and provides CTC with the ability to change screw configuration to meet any thermoplastic demand.
CTC Plastics is a minority owned ISO 9001 and ISO/EIC 17025 certified custom compounder of thermoplastic resins. CTC's wide range of capabilities also extends to compression and injection molding as well as the manufacturing of plastic pallets.
