Rivers Agency, Chapel Hill's Largest Advertising & Web Development Firm, Moves to New Office
Chapel Hill, NC (PRWEB) August 11, 2014 -- Rivers Agency, a full-service advertising, design and web development firm in Chapel Hill, has moved to a new, larger office on the ground floor of Greenbridge Condominiums at 601 W. Rosemary St., Space 108, in Chapel Hill.
Rivers Agency’s new 4,700-square-foot office was designed by Phillip Szostak, an award-winning architect with Szostak Design of Chapel Hill. Known for his elegant, minimalist designs and use of sustainable materials, Szostak has worked on several notable projects, including the Durham Performing Arts Center. For Rivers Agency’s new space, Szostak created an inspiring, open layout that encourages creativity and collaboration. The design also fits in well with the other commercial and residential spaces at Greenbridge Condominiums, a unique, mixed use development.
“In creating our office, Phillip worked with Rivers Agency to design a space that is both functional and beautiful,” said Lauren Rivers, president and founder. “The result is a stunning, airy workspace that reflects our own creative spirit.”
On the first floor of the new office is Rivers’ team of artists, designers and writers. Team members work side-by-side in banks of open, high-tech workstations, with easy access to technology and to each other. Desk systems are clean and simple, with frosted glass dividers used to separate spaces rather than cubicles and walls.
This area is bathed in natural light. A stacked stone façade near the front entrance adds a warm, earthy touch, and exposed concrete supports and Ethernet channel pathways provide additional visual interest.
Along with housing Rivers’ design and public relations departments, the first floor features multiple conference rooms for client meetings. It also includes room for a kitchen and an outside patio for meeting and entertaining.
A center stairway leads to a mezzanine level. This space holds the company’s executive offices and meeting and working space for technology specialists and the development team.
“We think we’ve created the best work environment in Chapel Hill,” said Rivers. “It’s perfectly in keeping with our progressive and fast-growing firm.”
Rivers’ location near the edge of the historic UNC-Chapel Hill campus also is a big plus, according to Rivers. “We’re now just a block from Franklin Street and just down the road from Carrboro, surrounded by a variety of amazing restaurants, music venues, bars, coffeehouses and other businesses,” said Rivers. “It’s a dynamic area with deep roots and ambitious plans, and we’re right in the heart of the action.”
Opened in mid-2010 and now owned by a private, New York-based investment firm, Greenbridge Condominiums is one of the most environmentally sustainable structures in the state. Greenbridge is the first development in North Carolina to receive LEED gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, which sets a national standard for energy-efficient, environmentally conscious architecture. The building’s features include three green rooftops, solar and thermal heated water and high-performance, floor-to-ceiling windows made of recycled glass.
“In our new space, we will be looking to build on this foundation of environmental responsibility and use our resources most efficiently,” Rivers said. “To minimize our energy usage, for example, we are using innovative, long-lasting LED light bulbs from Cree, which is one of our clients. We also will be installing a state-of-the-art kitchen with energy-efficient appliances.”
The Rivers Agency has experienced strong growth recently. The Triangle Business Journal recently ranked the firm No. 5 on its list of the Triangle’s largest advertising firms, and it also was recognized by UpCity as one of the Top 50 web designers in the Raleigh area.
“From our start as primarily a print design studio in 1993, we’ve steadily expanded our expertise and skills to meet our clients’ fast-changing needs,” Rivers said. “We now offer a comprehensive range of creative services, and we work hard to stay ahead of emerging trends in all areas of communication.”
Prior to its move, Rivers Agency had been based at 215 Henderson Street in Chapel Hill. In that location, the agency had 3,000 square feet of office space.
The agency is planning an August launch party to reveal its new space.
