Swiftwick Announces Partnership With the Sioux City Musketeers
Brentwood, TN (PRWEB) August 08, 2014 -- Swiftwick, a leading U.S. producer of athletic compression socks, announced today its partnership with the Sioux City Musketeers as “The Official Sock of the Sioux City Musketeers” during the 2014 Junior Club World Cup (JCWC). The Musketeers are representing the United States Hockey League (USHL) and the United States at JCWC, the most prestigious international club championship in hockey that takes place Aug. 22-30 in Ufa, Russia.
The Sioux City Musketeers are taking advantage of Swiftwick’s performance sock technology and integrated sock solution by wearing the ASPIRE™ line off-ice, the Cut-Resistant Hockey Sock on-ice and RECOVERY+ sock post-game.
“Swiftwick has the ability to provide hockey teams with one of the most effective and easily implementable competitive advantages,” says Eddie Rosenberg, Swiftwick hockey accounts manager. “By simply wearing our socks off-ice, on-ice and post-game, players experience more endurance, comfortable cut-resistant protection and stronger next-day performance.”
Swiftwick’s partnership with the Sioux City Musketeers is a result of the socks being extremely popular in professional, collegiate and junior hockey leagues. During the 2013-14 season, players on all 30 National Hockey League teams wore Swiftwick as well as numerous NCAA DI teams, including Penn State and University of Massachusetts.
Each Swiftwick line is designed to offer unique benefits to athletes. The ASPIRE™ line, featuring Swiftwick’s Managed Compression™ technology, is ideal for off-ice use, including training and pre-game warm-ups. The Cut-Resistant Hockey Sock features cut-resistant protection and a patented moisture management system. The RECOVERY+ sock features Swiftwick’s Medical Class II graduated compression construction and is FDA approved to help reduce fatigue and increase next-day performance.
“We are excited to provide Swiftwick socks to all of our players, coaches and trainers this season,” said Jay Varady, head coach of the Sioux City Musketeers. “Our travel demands are strenuous and Swiftwick’s RECOVERY+ sock is the perfect solution to help our team maintain optimal health as we fly to Russia and compete throughout the 2014-15 season.”
The JCWC, which is sanctioned by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), features top junior teams from around the world. Only nine countries will send representatives for the 2014 tournament. The Sioux City Musketeers are competing in “Group B” against teams from Austria, Latvia, Sweden and Russia. “Group A” consists of teams from Belarus, Canada, Czech Republic, Finland and Russia.
