SCS Networks to Utilize iDirect Technology to Provide GenCom a Private Satellite Network
Victoria, TX (PRWEB) August 12, 2014 -- SCS Networks was recently awarded a contract by GenCom (a Genco Energy Services Division) to utilize iDirect technology to provide a private satellite network. This contract involved implementation of iDirect equipment and technology.
In May 2014, SCS Networks deployed a team to the customer site in Victoria, Texas to transition the TDMA network from Telstar-14R to SATMEX-8. The team re-configured Mobile IP Kits with new option files and a new IP scheme.
We re-pointed fixed and auto-acquire VSAT terminals, and relocated the teleport and VNO services to LBiSat in South Jordan, Utah, allowing GES to provide superior service in the oilfield sector.
As a follow on to the implementation in May, SCS Networks has been contracted by GenCom to provide 24x7x365 monitoring services, maintenance, and control of the network, space segment, and teleport backbone. This monitoring is conducted by our Secure Network Operations Center (S-NOC) located in Herndon, Virginia. Our team in Herndon maintains visibility of the Network and provides reporting and scheduled preventive maintenance.
SCS is a leading end-to-end enterprise-wide network support services company dedicated to designing, implementing and maintaining enterprise networks. The network consists of a Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) any-to-any network with more than 30 teleports and over 300 Points-of-Presence (PoPs) worldwide and is supported by a fully redundant, 24x7 secure Network Operations Center (NOC) with automatic failover system capabilities.
