When the group plays the PNC Bank Arts Center, they will be doing so at a venue that is home to 7,000 seats and room for more than 10,000 fans in the lawn section. In the United States, it is ranked as one of the most successful amphitheatres and is one of just two outdoor venues in the New York City metropolitan area. The venue originally opened in 1968 and was expanded by 2,000 seats in 1995. Over the years, many of the best performers in the music business have played here including Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, The Allman Brothers Band, and Sting.
When 5 Seconds to Summer perform here next August, there will be more than 17,000 screaming fans that will be eager to hear everything Luke Hemmings (lead vocals, guitar), Michael Clifford (guitar, vocals), Calum Hood (bass guitar, vocals) and Ashton Irwin (drums, vocals), have to offer. The group, which only formed in 2011, became internet sensations in 2012 because of their YouTube channel where they covered many of the most popular songs. This channel drew the attention of One Direction, who asked them to open for them on their worldwide “Take Me Home Tour.”

The album, 5 Seconds to Summer, has sold more than 300,000 copies and fans have been waiting for more singles to be released.
