A dog breeder that this year toasted a decade of breeding cockapoos in Wales is taking on the world - and has gone international.
Jandaz Cockapoos was founded by Janice Griffiths in 2004 and over the last 10 years, the breeder has watched her cockapoo puppies go to loving homes in the UK but is now also sending them overseas.
Mrs Griffiths is delighted to be able to help customers searching for cockapoos from all over Europe and countries as far flung as Hong Kong, the Bahamas and Dubai. Each country has different requirements and Jandaz Cockapoos co-ordinates the process from start to finish with the welfare of each dog and the satisfaction of the customer paramount.
In most countries dogs are required to travel with export papers and full vaccinations, while others require vaccines against rabies and passports too but the Welsh breeder arranges all of it. They use professional animal transport services, http://www.animalcouriers.com.
Mrs Griffiths said: “We get loads of enquiries for cockapoo puppies from all over the world but as there is a lot more involved and because they are not allowed to fly until they are a certain age, we sometimes need to keep puppies for weeks or months.
“Some breeders are not prepared to do this but at Jandaz Cockapoos we are very willing to hold on to puppies for customers. Keeping puppies until they are older means they need a lot more socialising but we do all that here and also house train them."
“We have already served customers all across Europe including France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and the Netherlands. We are really enjoying going international and our puppies are having some great adventures on planes and ferries. One customer in Jersey flew his puppy over in a private jet!”
All Jandaz cockapoos are vaccinated three times, health checked, micro-chipped and wormed and all cockapoo parents are eye-tested and Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) cleared.
One Jandaz Cockapoos customer Tony Brown said: “Dexy arrived safe and sound in sunny Dubai and is settling in well. A big thanks to Jandaz Cockapoos for looking after him until he was old enough to travel all that way on his own. We can't thank them enough. Dexy has a lovely temperament and was adored by all immediately.”
Another Jandaz Cockapoos customer Siobhan Montgomery said: “Trevor (now Mungo) has now been in Germany nearly two weeks. He is an absolute dream. The sweetest little boy that ever was. Gentle, playful and very loving and cuddly.”
Jandaz Cockapoos has cockapoo puppies ready for November and December and anybody interested can register their interest and visit http://www.jandaz.co.uk for more information.
