The Institute of Financial Operations Announces Expansion of Educational Programming into Western Canada
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) August 13, 2014 -- The Institute of Financial Operations is preparing for CDN360, its first conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, showing its commitment to expanding educational offerings into new parts of Canada.
A nonprofit membership association, the IFO serves as the premier source of education, certification, and networking for professionals in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the related fields of information management and data capture. The organization has held a conference in Toronto, Ontario, for the previous three years titled the Canadian Financial Operations Symposium.
“It was time for us to expand to the West Coast to reach more of our constituents,” said Ken Brown, interim executive director of the IFO. “CDN360 is the perfect way for those who couldn’t get to our annual international conference in Dallas, Texas, in May to still receive in-person educational benefits.”
CDN360 2014 takes place Sept. 14-16 at the Marriott Pinnacle Downtown. Among highlights of the announced schedule:
• Keynote speakers — Business advisor and author Ed Robinson will talk about “Change Management: From Fighting the Storm to Dancing in the Rain.” Dominique Vincenti, vice president of internal audit at Nordstrom, will present “Have You Thought About Your Personal Brand Lately? A Snapshot of Emotional Intelligence and its Contribution to Professional Success for Finance Leaders.”
• Panel discussions — Financial operations leaders will interactive discussions on “Today’s Top Fraud Challenges in Financial Operations” and “What Lies Ahead: A Look into the Future.”
• Educational sessions — Topics include automating the invoice-to-payment cycle, reducing procure-to-pay costs, using e-bill for payments, identifying global trends in e-invoicing, complying with Canadian tax laws, business-to-business networks, vendor file best practices, and more.
• Exhibitors — About a dozen booths will showcase products and services that help financial operations departments function more optimally.
