Two-time Grammy Award winner, Jennifer Holliday, has been proclaimed a Broadway legend by critics and fans alike. Her show-stopping, heart-wrenching performance of the torch ballad “And I am Telling You, I’m Not Going” in the 1981 smash hit, Dreamgirls, is considered one of the all-time best performances in a Broadway musical and the standard to which all other renditions of the song are compared. She won the Tony Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of "Effie" in Dreamgirls. The iconic role made Jennifer Holliday a household name and introduced her big, soulful voice to the world.
Her life and career have been challenged with the highs and lows of fame; battles with weight loss and suicidal depression. Survival through reinvention has created her latest CD entitled "This Song Is You" (2014, Shanachie Records)
