adMarketplace and Pencils of Promise Partner to Give Students the Building Blocks for a Brighter Future
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 12, 2014 -- adMarketplace is delighted to announce that it is partnering with Pencils of Promise (PoP) to build two new schools in Ghana’s Volta region. adMarketplace has donated $25,000 to build the Adigbokope Primary School and motivated its team to raise an additional $25,000 for the construction of the Asele Preschool and Primary School.
Construction on both schools has already begun and is expected to be complete by September 2014. The schools will provide a safe, stable, and productive learning environment in a region where schoolchildren often suffer from overcrowding, lack of resources, and insufficient protection from floodwater. The donations will be used to cover building materials and labor costs. Pencils of Promise works closely with local communities to ensure the success of every project. The Adigbokope and Asele communities have each contributed 20% of the labor and materials to the construction of their schools.
PoP founder Adam Braun said, “I’ve known the adMarketplace team for some time and I’m really excited that we have the opportunity to work together on this project. It’s fantastic to see growing New York companies get involved with something that I care about so deeply.”
adMarketplace was inspired to partner with Pencils of Promise after Adam Braun delivered the keynote address at adMarketplace’s Insight NYC Summit in April. “At adMarketplace, we understand the value of quality education.” said adMarketplace CEO Jamie Hill. “Much of our success has come from our ability to solve complex and dynamic challenges by thinking critically and creatively. Access to early education is the key to fostering this type of ingenuity and problem-solving. By partnering with Pencils of Promise, we’re able to directly improve the learning experiences of children in Ghana.”
The Pencils of Promise partnership aligns with adMarketplace’s overarching philanthropy goals to foster the next generation of innovation and growth by supporting initiatives that improve children’s access to education, healthcare, and the arts. In addition to partnering with Pencils of Promise, adMarketplace also supports the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and Mythic Bridge, a New York based nonprofit that mentors local at-risk youth by providing free training in narrative filmmaking.
