Engel & Völkers Holds Sixth Annual White Party and Polo Cup Event in Majorca, Spain with the Largest Contingent from North American in Attendance
New York/Majorca (PRWEB) August 12, 2014 -- International, luxury real estate firm Engel & Völkers held its sixth annual White Party and Polo Cup event in Majorca, Spain, bringing together influential figures in politics, media, sports and business, and global celebrities including choreographer Nacho Duato and fashion model icons Eugenia Silva, Laura Ponte, Nieves Alvarez and Antonia Dell’Atte.
The event takes place every year on the expansive Spanish estate of Christian Völkers, president and founder of Engel & Völkers. Völkers’ private Majorcan estate “Son Coll” is located in Port d’es Canonge on the southwestern coast of the island, an area known for its picturesque views of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains and Mediterranean Sea.
The makeup of the event was in complete White Party fashion, dress code only “summer whites,” and over 600 international guests donned all white for the occasion. The Polo Cup involved three days of preliminary matches between six teams representing the sponsors Engel & Völkers, Bentley, Cartier, La Martina, Forest Lakes and Vertu—the last match occurring on August 1. Each team consisted of three top-class players who rode a total of 60 horses throughout the entire tournament, all of which were specifically ferried across the Mediterranean Sea for the event.
“The first Cup was a family event with just under 200 guests,” said Völkers. “I feel tremendously proud of the international reputation and prestige the Tournament has garnered year after year, and of the ever-growing following this fine sport has.”
“We had an extraordinary North American presence at this year’s Polo Cup, which came as a result of the amount of growth we’ve been experiencing throughout the continent,” said Anthony Hitt, CEO of Engel & Völkers North America. “This is the ultimate gathering set against an amazing backdrop for the Engel & Völkers network and our guests to experience what our brand is all about.”
A philanthropic event as well, the tournament was played under the motto “It’s time to share!” to raise awareness for the Engel & Völkers international charity dedicated to the construction of schools in Togo, Africa. A raffle was held after the polo matches to raise funds for the charity. In addition, watercolor silk scarves, designed by artists Javier Escobar and Jaume Vilardell, and limited edition bracelets, created by Relojería Alemana, were sold exclusively at the event—all proceeds going to the Engel & Völkers Charity.
In the evening, guests dined from an asado-style menu of Argentine barbeque created by Michelin-star chef Maca Castro. The meal was accompanied by wine that was harvested from Son Coll’s vineyards.
