Herb Larsen, Edifecs principal business consultant, and Vik Sachdev, Edifecs vice president for trading solutions, will outline how to make the most of a trading platform investment by creating a smarter infrastructure that goes beyond traditional EDI in support of new value-based lines of business. Larsen and Sachdev will also discuss the strategic views needed as change-agents to successfully engage trading partners in the race to value-based care.

• A use case for applying an upcoming mandate to drive long-term solutions
Session 2: ICD-10: Lessons Learned from the Frontlines
August 20, 2014, Colorado Convention Center at 3:00 p.m. MDT
Dr. Parag Patel, head of the ICD-10 advisory services and implementation consulting team at Edifecs, will share lessons learned and best practices from partnering with commercial entities through data modeling, medical policy and benefit remediation, core and peripheral system remediation and testing.
This session will include:
• Lessons learned from data modeling and analysis for state Medicaid agencies
• Medical policy and associated benefit conversion best practices
• Strategies to minimize disruption to financial and operational processes
• Best practices for internal testing strategies as well as community based end-to-end testing with providers
