Buckinghamshire Logistics and Supply Chain Experts Navigator Solutions Assist with the Closedown of Unipart Automotive
High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire (PRWEB UK) 15 August 2014 -- Navigator Solutions, supply chain and logistics experts based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, have recently assisted in the national closedown of unsold Unipart Automotive stores. This assignment was given to them, along with a number of other outsourced resources by Gordon Brothers Europe, who were appointed by the administrator KPMG.
Unipart Automotive officially went into receivership on the evening of Wednesday 23rd July, at which point Navigator Solutions Managing Partner, Nav Ali was instructed to be onsite at the Birmingham HUB store, representing an area of 9 stores, ready for an announcement to be made nationally at each store the following morning. Out of 180 stores nationwide, 2 different buyers were found for only 33 stores, leaving 147 stores to close. Area, Branch and Quality Managers were retained in employment for a period of 2 weeks in order to help conduct the closedown process, whilst all other staff were made redundant with immediate effect.
The main role of Navigator Solutions was to assist the Branch Manager and Quality Manager in making all staff redundant. This involved ensuring that communications were kept up and down the chain of command between administrators, KPMG and temporarily retained Unipart Managerial staff, as well as the execution of key tasks issued by KPMG. Navigator Solutions were employed for a duration of up to 2 weeks, to provide reactive and crisis management, minimising any further risks, and to report any emerging issues from grassroots level to Gordon Brothers Europe and KPMG.
Navigator Solutions Managing Partner, Nav Ali said “My primary concern was to ensure that communications were kept open between KPMG and the remaining Unipart staff and that key tasks were performed in a timely manner. It is always difficult to issue redundancies to any number of staff, so it was important to make sure that this was handled efficiently and sensitively in order to minimise any further issues.”
