Engines Roar At CAF Airpower Museum's Mustang Stampede
Midland, Texas (PRWEB) August 13, 2014 -- The CAF Airpower Museum will host the third annual Mustang Stampede, sponsored by Rogers Ford of Midland, on Saturday, August 23. This event is open to all show cars and provides a rare opportunity to see unique automobiles and airplanes in one place.
Mustang Stampede will spotlight two significant aircraft in aviation history, the iconic fighter, the North American P-51 Mustang and the World’s only flying B-29 Superfortress FIFI. Other aircraft from the CAF fleet will also be on display throughout the day.
Show car owners are invited to have their vehicles judged during the event. Entry fees are $30 for indoor parking and $20 for outdoor parking. Owners who do not wish to have their vehicle judged can park in the Show Corral for just $10. Admission for the driver is included with the entry fee. Additional passengers are $5 each. General admission, which also includes admission to the CAF Airpower Museum, is $5. Children age five and under are admitted free. Aircraft tours, food and beverages will also be sold throughout the day.
The doors will open to the public at 9 a.m., judging will begin at 11 a.m. Those wishing to have their cars judged may bring them to the show between 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, and no later than 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Awards will be presented for; Best Custom Car or Truck, Best Sport Compact or Tuner, Best Traditional Hot Rod, Best Rat Rod, Best Restored Vehicle, Best Unrestored “Survivor”, Best RestoMod/ Street Machine, Best Late Model Show Car, People’s Choice Award and Mustang Stampede Champion. Awards will be presented in the Main Hangar at 2:30 p.m.
Show participants will have the opportunity to have their car photographed next to the P-51 or B-29 for an additional $30.
