Belatrix Software Joins DANE Project in Improving Access to Technology for Children with Disabilities
Mendoza, Argentina (PRWEB) August 15, 2014 -- Belatrix Software will become part of the DANE Project. The National Chamber of Software Companies of Argentina (CESSI) coordinated Belatrix’s addition to this social initiative, which seeks to establish Argentina as Latin America’s leader in mobile apps for special education.
The DANE Project began in 2013 with the objective of improving methods for teaching content to young adults and children with special needs. It consists of institutions in the business and non-profit sectors. In this venture, Belatrix Software will work with two non-profit organizations to develop two apps.
The first mobile app is for children with ASD. It is intended to help stimulate the standard sequence of development of mental abilities. Since children with ASD have trouble realizing that their own emotions or mental states might not be shared with other people, this app helps to guide them through a sequence of logic development leading to better recognition of emotions.
The second app in this project is designed to help young adults with Down syndrome integrate into society. It can help them develop the social skills that will allow them to be productive in the workforce.
Development of these applications is complex. Development of the user experience (UX) requires deep understanding of the user’s likely methods of interacting with the app. It is also important to account for any problems users may encounter when using the app.
“We committed to participate as soon as we heard about the project,” said Federico Robbio, Co-Founder and VP of Finance at Belatrix Software. “We’re proud to be part of this program and we’re confident that our company’s expertise will help to make these apps a reality”.
Belatrix’s mobile lab, team specifically focused on mobile app development, will be in charge of the project working with specialists of each area. The initiative is part of the company’s CSR program to encourage the visibility of a positive impact of IT in the community.
