Family Promise Again Receives Highest Rating from Charity Navigator
Summit, NJ (PRWEB) August 13, 2014 -- Family Promise, the Summit-based, national nonprofit helping homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence, has been awarded a coveted 4-star rating for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency. Charity Navigator has recognized Family Promise’s work with four out of a possible four stars, indicating the charity’s adherence to good governance and the execution of their mission in a fiscally responsible way.
“Only 19% of the charities we rate have received at least 2 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating Family Promise outperforms most other charities in America,” said Ken Berger, President and CEO of Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest charity evaluator. “This ‘exceptional’ designation differentiates Family Promise from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”
Under Charity Navigator’s formula combining accountability and fiscal management, Family Promise received a score of 95.81 out of a possible 100. Family Promise reports that 85% of every dollar raised is spent on program expenses.
“We are thrilled to receive four stars again from Charity Navigator,” said Karen Olson, President of Family Promise. “It is always our goal to be completely transparent in how we do business. Our supporters deserve accountability, and this continued recognition ensures that we are providing it.”
