San Diego State University Offers New Career-Enhancing Marketing and Digital Media Certificate Program
San Diego, California (PRWEB) August 15, 2014 -- San Diego State University has taken the best curricula from its previous certificate programs in Marketing and Media, and Digital and Social Media, and combined them into a career-enhancing certificate program beginning this fall to benefit students in both fields.
The new Marketing and Digital Media certificate program, offered through SDSU’s College of Extended Studies, provides all the skills and knowledge students need to succeed in today's digital environment. Students can tailor their curriculum to fit their career aspirations, and even take additional courses and receive a specialty certificate, further enhancing their resume.
Past students say they have benefitted from the certificate programs in Marketing and Media, and Digital and Social Media.
“The classes were practical, timely, and relevant with experienced instructors, who worked in local companies, doing what they were teaching.”
Ian Cook, analyst, Cubic Corporation
“Not only was the information educational, but getting to know the other professionals in my class was almost just as beneficial.”
Lauren Holt, marketing & communications coordinator, Better Business Bureau San Diego
The new Marketing and Digital Media certificate program has been developed in partnership with SDX (formerly the San Diego Ad Club), the San Diego Press Club and the SDSU School of Journalism & Media Studies, and is taught by professionals who are leaders in their field.
There are numerous routes students can take in the newly devised program.
The first two options are to take six courses in either the Professional Certificate in Marketing, or the Professional Certificate in Digital Media, to earn a certificate in that particular program.
Students can even elect to take three additional courses from either certificate and receive a specialty certificate, further enhancing their résumé.
This certificate program is targeted to working professionals within the fields of journalism, public relations, advertising, marketing, and multimedia content production, as well as anyone who wants to enter these exciting careers.

There were people who are trying to be more competitive by learning new skills. And then there were young people trying to gain a competitive advantage in their field or switch over to a new field.”
