Claude demonstrates this cool guitar lick in the key of A with the first position of minor pentatonic at the second octave as follows; 15th fret of the first string with first finger, 18th fret with 2nd finger and 20th fret with 4th finger, played ascending and then descending, played as legato using the hammer-on and pull-off techniques, and then Johnson moves to the 15th fret of the 2nd string with first finger and does a hammer-on and pull-off to the 17th fret with 3rd finger, and then back to the 15th fret and then to the 17th fret of the 3rd string with 3rd finger, which is the blue note. Claude continues this easy lead guitar lesson by performing it an octave lower and adding some variation to sweeten the lick up even more.
