Expanding Technologies, Markets, Product Lines Highlight Market America | SHOP.COM 2014 International Convention

More than 20,000 attendees — including actress/entrepreneur La La Anthony, Grammy nominated rap artist and entrepreneur Fat Joe, and a surprise show-stopping performance by Oscar winner Jamie Foxx — get first glimpse at North Carolina-based Internet Retailer’s latest digital advancements, new product offerings.

In the heart of North Carolina, locally owned Market America | SHOP.COM has taken the global e-commerce arena by storm with its latest announcements, made here last week at the company’s 2014 International Convention.

With more than 20,000 entrepreneurs in attendance during the four-day event at the Greensboro Coliseum, Market America and its retail site, SHOP.COM, unveiled state-of-the-art technologies, new growth markets and expanded product lines that the company believes will drive its retail sales higher than ever before.

“We had entrepreneurs from around the world here this past week who represent six million customers,” said President and CEO JR Ridinger. “With the introduction of our new technologies like our enhanced SHOP.COM mobile app and new product categories like SHOP.COM Groceries, we are creating a more simplified and robust shopping experience for our customers. We have enhanced systems that are equipped to engage new opportunities, making it easier than ever before for customers to convert their spending into earning.”

Market America | SHOP.COM ranks #57 on Internet Retailer magazine’s Top 500 Guide, and the company is set on climbing higher on that list with their latest innovations and enhancements. “We’re making it easier for online shoppers to find the best products in the marketplace at the best prices,” according to Chief Operating Officer Marc Ashley.

Among the technologies announced was the new official SHOP.COM mobile application enhancement that offers the shopper the ultimate experience in mobile shopping. “We know that shoppers want to have an application that is as fast and efficient as possible. Customers can search, add product to their cart and check out fast and efficiently with our enhanced SHOP.COM app,” says Kevin Curley, Director of Mobile Development for Market America | SHOP.COM. The free SHOP.COM app is now available on both Google Play and iTunes.

The company also launched SHOP.COM Groceries enabling customers to buy non-perishable items in bulk without the membership fees required at Costco or BJ’s. And an added benefit of SHOP.COM Groceries is its flat-rate shipping of just $5.99 for any size order.

Rohan Marley, son of legendary Reggae musician Bob Marley and founder of Marley Coffee, appeared on stage to announce his new partnership with SHOP.COM Groceries. Sustainably grown, ethically farmed, artisan roasted, gives Marley Coffee its distinct flavor and when purchased through SHOP.COM, customers earn up to 5% cash back.

SHOP.COM also announced its new travel partner — The Priceline Partner Network —providing discounts on flights, hotels, vacation packages and more.

The company is also expanding its Emerging Markets Program, which enables customers throughout the world to purchase Market America-branded products. This program will is now available in nine markets such as New Zealand, Spain, Panama, Singapore and has now expanded to Jamaica.

“It’s the beginning of opening up as a full market country,” COO Marc Ashley said of the Emerging Markets Program. “It will springboard us into more new territories than ever before. The global dynamics have changed.”

In addition, new product launches took center stage at Market America | SHOP.COM 2014 International Convention. The award-winning Motives by Loren Ridinger cosmetics line — created by Market America | SHOP.COM Senior Vice President Loren Ridinger — announced several new products, such as new Motives Lip Crayons in fall colors and a versatile In The Nude Palette and many more exciting items. Motives has seen skyrocketing sales and popularity using social media over the past year. Ridinger announced that Motives has over 900,000 Instagram followers, more than L’Oreal, CoverGirl, Estée Lauder and Lancôme combined.

Ridinger is known in the beauty industry for her out of the box social media strategies and online marketing acumen. So when she announced at the MAIC 2014 convention that Motives is now partnering with Olapic, it was yet another strategy by Ridinger that sets Motives apart from other beauty brands. “Olapic gives makeup enthusiasts the chance to be a part of our Motives team. Consumers can take photographs of their looks using Motives cosmetics and post the photographs with the hashtag #motivescosmetics, which gives them the opportunity to have their pictures featured on the site,” said Ridinger.

In collaboration with Ridigner, actress and entrepreneur La La Anthony showcased the latest developments and industry trends surrounding the Motives for La La line of cosmetics which has garnered significant media attention for bringing beauty in every shade to women everywhere.

Grammy-nominated rap artist and entrepreneur Joseph ”Fat Joe” Cartagena, the company’s President of Urban and Latino Development, described the momentum and excitement within that market sector, which has seen explosive growth this year. “More and more people are boarding the Market America | SHOP.COM ‘Invisible Train’ to success. The urban and Latino division is growing faster and faster and will soon be a dominant sector of entrepreneurs within the company,” says Cartagena.

Academy award winner, Grammy award winner and dear friend of the Ridinger’s, Jamie Foxx surprised the audience with a medley of songs during a stunning thirty minute performance that had everyone dancing in the aisles.

The annual conference also showcased several up-and-coming new artists from Conquer Entertainment™ including Jeneen Terrana, Stevi Leigh and Mark McKinney. Duane McLaughlin also performed his new hit single “We the People (Prove You Right).”

Amber Ridinger McLaughlin announced the newest addition to her highly successful Lumière de Vie line — Lumière de Vie Needle-Free Serum.
