Garvey Schubert Barer, a full-service law firm, has announced the addition of Attorney Michael Mangan to its Portland office, where his law practice will focus on real estate law and taxation. He also represents privately held businesses and medical and dental practitioners.

Michael has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate law, including property tax appeals, eminent domain, real estate litigation and transactions. His experience in real estate is industry-related. Prior to entering the practice of law, for nearly a decade, Michael was a commercial real estate appraiser who specialized in complex business and real estate consultation and valuation projects. He uses his expertise as a former appraiser to help his business and real estate clients obtain excellent results in transactions and disputes.

According to Cynthia Fraser, who is an owner at Garvey Schubert Barer, “We are very pleased to have Michael join our firm as a Senior Associate. His prior business background as an appraiser brings a unique skill set to our property tax and condemnation litigation teams and will also be an asset to our business transaction team.”

Prior to joining Garvey Schubert Barer, Michael was an Associate with the Portland-based law firm Cosgrave Vergeer Kester LLP.
