Shelby Township (PRWEB) August 18, 2014

Local No Roof Left Behind host, Ridgecon Construction, announced today that four finalists have been selected in its 7th No Roof Left Behind TM community program since 2009.

  • Patricia & Scott Tomlinson of Clinton Township nominated by Richard Smith.
The Tomlinson Family has experienced many hardships in the last five years including job loss and major medical issues that tragically took the life of their young son just a few months ago.

  • Lois Payne of Sterling Heights nominated by Renee Browning.
Mrs. Payne has been a caretaker for over 25 years. Her husband suffered from a closed head injury and now suffers from Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Additionally she’s been caring for her adult daughter who’s both physically and mentally challenged.

  • Matthew and Cora Edwards of Pontiac nominated by Andrea Epson.
Mr. Edwards is a medically retired canine handler who lives with chronic pain due to back injury. Mrs. Edwards works hard at the V.A. in Ann Arbor in spite of a degenerative bone disease.

  • Darlene Ringe of Berkley was self nominated.
Ms. Ringe is a single mother of 4 children and receives no financial support in raising young family. She struggles financially and is facing unpaid leave at work due to an upcoming surgery.

One of these community members will receive a free roof – valued between $8,000 and $10,000 – from Ridgecon Construction and GAF, North America’s largest shingle manufacturer. The public is invited and encouraged to read the finalists’ stories and vote for their favorite at http://bit.ly/Ridgecon.

“We had some really wonderful nominees this year. Narrowing it down to just four finalists was extremely challenging,” said Ridgecon owner, Jay Elie. “Our finalists are all very deserving. Now we look to our community to help us pick the winner with their votes.”

In addition to the roof, finalists have the opportunity to receive incredible gifts from other local sponsors. “A number of our fellow local businesses have come forward to show their support for this initiative that directly helps our residents. We’re thrilled to have them as partners in this program. Hamlin Pub, Discount Tire and Poirier Chiropractic all of Shelby Township as well as Valvoline Instant Oil Change of Chesterfield have all made generous contributions."
