Hope For The Warriors Seeks Nominations for Local Heroes at Inaugural 5K
Lorton, VA (PRWEB) August 18, 2014 -- Registration is now open for the Inaugural DMV Run For The Warriors® 5K and 1-Mile Race to be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014. The event will take place at Occoquan Regional Park in Lorton, Virginia, strategically located between Ft. Belvoir and Marine Corps Base Quantico. All proceeds from the race will benefit Hope For The Warriors®, a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, restoring the family unit, and restoring hope for our service members and our military families. Seeking Nominations
Hope For The Warriors® will be honoring a local wounded warrior during the opening ceremony of this race. Nominations are needed by October 1, 2014. If you would like to nominate a friend or family member to be honored during the race, please send an email to Heather Busicchia at hbusicchia(at)hopeforthewarriors(dot)org with the subject “DMV Race Wounded Warrior Honoree Nomination.”
General registration is $25 with special pricing for veterans, military families, and students. Gold Star families and wounded service members participate free. Run For The Warriors® is a unique event dedicated to the men and women wounded in the global war on terror and their families. By uniting the entire community, military and civilian alike, this event embraces wounded service members and their families in the shared belief that there is hope beyond recovery.
