Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) August 16, 2014 -- Ticket Down reports record demand from soccer fans for Mexico vs. Chile tickets at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. International soccer fans have been treated to an abundance of soccer events during the summer of 2014.
The Mexican national soccer team plays on American soil almost as much as the United States national team does. Later this summer the Mexican team will once again play a series of matches in the United States beginning with a match against Chile on Sept. 6 from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. They will also play Bolivia from Dick’s Sporting Good Stadium in Commerce City, Colo. This will be the first international friendly the Mexican team has played since the World Cup and they will look to continue their excellent play from Brazil.
After their performance at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Mexico jumped up the FIFA/Coca Cola Rankings to 18th place and has since moved up an additional spot. Mexico will be led into this match with Chile by one of the brightest stars in the sport, goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa. Ochoa put on a show at the World Cup, shutting out Brazil in the group stage and only allowing three total goals in four matches. In addition to their talented keeper, the team will also be led in this match by some of the biggest stars in the history of Mexican soccer, Rafa Marquez, Carlos Salcido, Andres Guardado, Francisco Javier Rodriguez, Javier Hernandez, and Giovani dos Santos.
On the opposite side of the pitch, the Chilean national soccer team, ranked as the 12th best team in the world according to the FIFA/Coca Cola World Rankings. They had one of the most impressive performances of any team at the World Cup this year. In the group stage, they finished second behind Netherlands and had an impressive victory against Spain. In the Round of 16, they nearly pulled off the upset of the tournament against Brazil, but lost on penalty kicks, 3-2. The team will be led in this match against Mexico by players that led them in Brazil including goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, Carlos Carmona, Eduardo Vargas, Esteban Paredes, and Gonzalo Jara.
When Chile and Mexico meet at Levi’s Stadium, it will be the first soccer match held at the venue. The venue only officially opened last month and is set to seat close to 70,000 fans each night and can be expanded to seat 75,000. The venue will be the home of the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League and will be the home of many memorable moments in the future. One of the first memorable moments will come when these two popular international soccer powerhouses meet on September 6th.
