Store Owner Awarded Wine Competition Retailer of the Year Honor for Ten Years in a Row
Elkhart, IN (PRWEB) August 20, 2014 -- The Wine Maker International Amateur Wine Competition judging committee has again awarded the Retailer of the Year honor to Michael Lese, an Elkhart business owner. This is the tenth year in a row that Mr. Lese has been awarded Retailer of the Year. He owns and operates Quality Wine and Ale Supply, a home brew and wine making supply retail store at 108 S. Elkhart Ave. in Elkhart and a large online store at http://www.HomeBrewIt.com. Being honored this prestigious award was the result of his customers receiving more points for their gold, silver and bronze medal winning wines than any other retailer in the world. The amateur wine competition which was held April 11 – 13 at the Burlington Hilton in Burlington, Vermont is the largest amateur wine competition in the world and winners were announced on June 7, 2014 at the opulent Lansdowne Resort, Leesburg, Virginia.
Event organizers stated, “From April 11 - 13, 2014, a record total of 3,111 different wines were judged at the Burlington Hilton in Burlington, Vermont. The 2014 edition of the WineMaker International Amateur Wine Competition represented one of the largest and most diverse collection of amateur wines ever assembled. The 3,111 entries arrived from hobby wine makers living in all 50 United States, 6 Canadian provinces and 7 other countries including Turkey and Australia. Over the course of three days, judging panels worked through over 910 flights, examining each wine using the UC-Davis 20-point wine judging system evaluating appearance, aroma, taste, finish and overall impression. The wines were entered in 50 different categories and included an astonishing array of varietals and wine styles. Kit wines competed right alongside fresh-grape entries in this blind tasting competition. Judges awarded gold, silver, bronze and best of show medals to every wine considered worthy.”
Mr. Lese said, "The award winning quality of our customer’s wines have been proven over and over and now for 10 years in a row. Our customers make the very best amateur wines using fresh grapes, fresh fruit and wine kits.”
Out of the entries sent in by customers of Quality Wine and Ale Supply, over half of them won medals including 17 Gold, 31 Silver and 29 Bronze. "That's a fantastic, winning percentage!" stated Mr. Lese. Along with the customers winning medals of their own, Lese awarded his winners, wine kits, gift certificates and percent off coupons making this once again, one of the largest company promotions ever.
