Malcovery Security Appoints G.T. LaBorde as CEO
Birmingham, Alabama (PRWEB) August 20, 2014 -- Malcovery® Security, the leader in delivering actionable threat intelligence that can be applied to neutralize email-based malicious threats, today announced the appointment of technology veteran G.T. LaBorde to the post of President and Chief Executive Officer.
LaBorde is a veteran operator, investor and advisor to technology companies. He co-founded MedMined, a data mining company that helps hospitals track and prevent hospital-acquired infections. LaBorde was MedMined’s first employee and served as COO from startup up through its sale to Cardinal Health in 2006 for more than $100 million. Since then he has been an active technology investor, advisor and Board member, with several affiliated companies also enjoying successful exits. He currently serves on the Board of Directors at Hygia Health Services and TechBirmingham. LaBorde received a B.A. in Economics and a J.D. from Louisiana State University and has served as an Adjunct Professor at the UAB-Collat School of Business. He also advises early stage companies in the Entrepreneurship Accelerated Program.
“I am excited to join the incredible Malcovery team; our novel approach to cyber threat intelligence is helping to protect some of the most valuable brands in the Fortune 500,” said LaBorde.
With daily news reports of data breaches and hacking, a growing number of companies realize that they must have multiple lines of cyber-defense in place. By using proprietary and patented methods to identify the root cause and pathways used by attackers, Malcovery is ideally suited to play an important part today’s corporate defense strategies.

Malcovery Security protects networks and brands against email-based attacks. It is the leading provider of actionable cyber security intelligence and forensic analysis about email-based threats (phishing, spam and malware).
Delivered as a suite of subscription services, the company's patented and patent-pending technology provides the ability to identify the root sources of cybercrime attacks (servers, perpetrators, locations, etc.), delivering rich actionable intelligence information about cross-brand attacks and targeted attacks, as well as advanced notification of emerging email-based threats.
Unlike services that serve only as a reactive response to these attacks today--services that simply address the symptoms but cannot provide the intelligence to actually stop the cybercriminals and their activities--Malcovery Security's solutions provide the unique intelligence required to respond effectively to attacks on customers' brands, to disrupt email-based threats on an organization.
