Surgical Specialties Group Comes to Mount Sinai Doctors Brooklyn Heights
Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) August 18, 2014 -- Brooklyn residents have access to top-quality surgical care at Mount Sinai Doctors Brooklyn Heights, a multispecialty practice in downtown Brooklyn. A group of surgeons specializing in oncologic, colorectal, vascular, general, and thoracic surgery will offer diagnostic services, evaluation before and after surgeries and laboratory services. The surgical group is the newest addition to Mount Sinai Doctors Brooklyn Heights, which opened in January 2013.
With a convenient location and walk-in availability, patients have access to top surgeons without the need to travel into Manhattan, along with access to physicians in many specialties and urgent care. Specialists will determine each patient’s needs in terms of surgery, or suggest alternatives to surgery where appropriate: surgery, if needed, will be performed at The Mount Sinai Hospital.
“If you believe you need surgery, or have been told you need surgery and a second opinion, these are the experts to see,” said Peter J. Tesler, MD, Medical Director of Mount Sinai Doctors Brooklyn Heights. "Our goal is to provide easily accessible surgical care to residents of Brooklyn and beyond.”
“Mount Sinai Doctors Brooklyn Heights brings high-quality, accessible surgical care right to the Brooklyn communities,” said Michael L. Marin, MD, FACS, Chairman, Department of Surgery and Surgeon-In-Chief, the Mount Sinai Health System. “This model elevates surgery to new levels by offering guidance before, during, and after surgery.”
Mount Sinai Doctors Brooklyn Heights is a 25,000-square foot, custom-built medical facility with highly-modernized diagnostic equipment. In addition to pre- and post-operative surgical services – surgical procedures are performed at The Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan – doctors at the multispecialty clinic also specialize in family medicine, allergy and immunology, and a range of other areas.
“Patients truly benefit from the one-stop-shop surgical experience and the convenience of high-quality surgical services in their neighborhood,” said Umut Sarpel, MD, MSc, FACS, Medical Director of Surgery at Mount Sinai Doctors Brooklyn Heights and Assistant Professor of Surgery and Surgical Oncology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
