WatchDog Group Engineers a New Contact Lens Case with Significant Health Benefits
Saint Louis, Missouri (PRWEB) August 19, 2014 -- Forget your conventional contact lens case, WatchDog Group designers have engineered EZcase™, a contact lens case packed with healthy features and benefits so lens wearers can help prevent microbial contamination that can lead to severe infection, vision loss, and blindness.
John O’Hara, head designer: "We've seen countless health innovations in contact lenses since soft, extended wear contacts were introduced in 1981, but the plastic case to soak and disinfect them overnight has never significantly changed. Contact lens case innovation may seem unimportant, but when you realize that there are over 40 million contact lens wearers in the US alone, a significant design and health improvement like EZcase™ will have a profound effect on eye health across the world."
EZcase™ uses patent pending, flip top design making it easy to open and close. Left and right solution soaking wells are clearly marked making it nearly impossible to mix up lenses. The new flip top drying feature keeps solution wells from touching dangerous sink top bacteria while also keeping irritating allergy dust and nasty bathroom particles from dropping into the wells.
The new flip top design takes FDA contact lens case warnings about frequent replacement and the dangers of water and molds them into the case. “Water and case replacement education are critical for healthy lens wear. EZcase™ is the first contact lens case to have these warnings molded onto the case. This is a big step forward for healthy contact lens care,” says O’Hara.
EZcase™ will be nationally distributed to food, drug, and mass retailers Spring 2015.
