Egnyte, the only provider of a complete suite of enterprise file services built from the cloud down, today announced it has appointed Ian Whiting as president of Field Operations to oversee worldwide sales, global services, customer success and business development. Whiting will leverage his more than 25 years of sales, marketing and operations experience in the Enterprise Software, Server, Storage and Networking industries to drive Egnyte’s growth in the Enterprise File Services market, both domestically and internationally.

Whiting most recently served as executive vice president of Global Field Operations at Fusion-io, a memory and software-defined storage solutions provider that was recently acquired by SanDisk. Prior to that, Whiting served as senior vice president of Sales for the Americas at Riverbed Technology, Inc., a company that specializes in performance solutions for wide area networks. Prior to Riverbed, Whiting served as senior vice president of Sales for Brocade Communications Systems, Inc., a leader in networking solutions, helping to grow the company’s revenues from approximately $500 million to more than $2 billion annually. Prior to Brocade, Whiting held a number of senior sales positions in other high tech companies, including Compaq (acquired by HP). He holds a Master’s Degree in European Business Management from Cranfield University (UK) and a Bachelor of Arts Honors in French and German from the University of Wales, Swansea.
