Goodfellow Bros., Inc., (GBI) a fourth-generation, family-owned construction firm with headquarters in Hawaii and Washington, today announced strategic changes to its management team in Hawaii. As the signs of economic recovery in the Hawaiian construction market strengthen, these changes will bolster an already strong and experienced management team as they pursue the opportunities in front of them. Ben Northey returns to GBI after a nine year hiatus, as the Director of Operations for Maui County and Kauai. Northey will be filling the role previously held by Ray Skelton. After 25 years with the company, Skelton has relocated to Spokane Washington with his wife Patti to begin the next chapter in his personal and professional life.

“We are fortunate that Ray and Ben have been able to work together over the last couple of months to ensure that this transition is a natural evolution for the company”, said Chad Goodfellow, President. “While we are extremely grateful for everything that Ray contributed to the organization over the past 25 years, we are excited with the prospects for the future. Ben is a proven leader with a wide range of industry experience and brings a critical set of skills to the management team.”

”I am excited to return to Hawaii and Goodfellow Bros., Inc.; the company’s dedication to customer service, the community and its employees provides a great platform on which to continue building relationships throughout Maui County and Kauai”, said Ben Northey.

For the past nine years, Northey has held various management positions with Colaska, a division of Colas, a large international construction firm. He most recently held the title of President of the Alaska market and directed the division as it became the largest civil contractor in the state. Prior to that, Northey worked for Goodfellow Bros., Inc.in the late 1980’s directing work on the Big Island and Maui and also ran the organization’s Alaska division from 1997 to 2005. In his new role, Northey will report to Chad Goodfellow, the company’s President.

Chief Executive Officer Steve Goodfellow said, “On behalf of our entire organization, I sincerely thank Ray for his hard work and dedication throughout his tenure with Goodfellow Bros., Inc. Over this time, he has made a substantial contribution to both our company and the community. We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
