Local DC Metro Transparency Experts Meet at FOIAXpress Users Group Conference

Following the launch of DC Government’s new transparency initiatives, AINS is proud to host the 9th annual FOIAXpress Users Group in Washington, DC. This day-long event is held at the Renaissance Hotel on Ninth Street NW and offers FOIAXpress users and potential customers the opportunity to network with other Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) professionals, learn about the latest updates in the FOIAXpress software, attend targeted breakout sessions on system functionality that help promote efficiency and network with various levels of FOIA professionals to gain new insight on transparency best practices. The conference is offered at no cost to attendees.

The event will include attendees from dozens of government agencies that are existing FOIAXpress customers like Housing and Urban Development, Department of Agriculture, DC Government, Veteran Affairs, Department of Education, US Postal Service, NASA, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. They have been using the software in their daily operations to decrease their processing times by managing information requests faster and more cost-effectively, saving the public time and money.

Attendees will have ample opportunity to discuss changes in best practices, voice their concerns, and offer suggestions to AINS on how they would like the software to improve. “It’s an important event, because it gives us the opportunity to see where we can grow and how we can help our users which leads to better handling of FOIA requests by these agencies,” said AINS CEO and founder Moe Goswami. The event schedule includes User Community Breakout sessions where civilian, defense, financial, and non-federal specialists can network and learn how other agencies are handling issues, concerns, and share solutions.

FOIAXpress is the leading web-based commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) application that allows for electronically processing Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act requests. The software platform is able to automate the entire request process from receipt to delivery, reduce redundancies, create an in-depth audit trail of user action, manage fees and payments, and integrate with pre-existing document management systems like SharePoint, Documentum, and OpenText. AINS also offers a variety of complementary services like SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) hosting, FOIA Services, technical services, case management applications (eCase), and document management solutions.

AINS has 25 years of experience developing innovative COTS products and providing IT services to Federal, state and local, and international government agencies. Our minority-owned small business has implemented COTS case management solutions for more than 350 clients in areas such as FOIA, Correspondence, Audits and Investigations, and Human Resources. AINS is a small business with large business capabilities and by applying our broad experience and working closely with our customers to learn their needs, we will continue to develop lasting solutions that leverage the rapid evolution of technology.
