The mix of the unexpected and incredible performances create the festival’s appeal for old and new pop and indie music fans.
Düsseldorf, Germany (PRWEB) August 19, 2014
Elegant concert halls and Japanese hotel stages are not the kind of venues where you’d expect pop music to be performed – but that is exactly one of the unusual combinations creating the amazing alchemy of Düsseldorf’s “New Fall Festival”, October 9-12, 2014. Many of Düsseldorf’s many world-class performance venues, including elegant concert halls and Japanese hotel stages, will open their doors to amazing pop and indie music performances for yet another one-of-a-kind festival that Düsseldorf is known for. The unique and high standards for venues are also applied to the selection of musicians, and the mix of the unexpected and incredible performances create the festival’s appeal for old and new pop and indie music fans.
The program includes avant-garde, singer/songwriter, electro and indie elements, and the program is a mix of international stars of high-quality pop.
- UK musician Alexis Taylor, who is known for creating club music nights with Hot Chip, will perform a quiet and acoustic kind of pop music on October 10, and the venue – Düsseldorf’s Johannes Church (Johanneskirche) - supports the calmer sounds.
- 70-year old Mulatu Astatke, also called the father of “Ethio-Jazz,” will bring his own mix of jazz, reggae, Latin rhythms and the music of his home Ethopia to Tanzhaus NRW (Dance House North-Rhine Westphalia) October 9, a venue usually reserved for dance performances.
- The event is also dedicated to promoting new musicians, and the stage at Hotel Nikko will be the site of the festival’s “New International Talents” showcase, featuring talent from all over Europe, including: “The New Spring” from Denmark, “I Am Oak” from the Netherlands, “Fair Weather Friends” from Poland, “Oscar & the Wolf” from Belgium, and “Adna” from Sweden.
- Local talent will also be represented, including the following shows on October 11 at Tanzhaus NRW: “Annenmaykantereit” from Cologne, “Rats and Children” from Cologne, and “Chogori” from Düsseldorf.
