Hempstead Corneal Specialist, David Immanuel, MD Joins Medical Staff at North Shore Eye Care
Smithtown, New York (PRWEB) August 25, 2014 -- In the continuing pursuit of expanding their eye care services and locations, North Shore Eye Care (http://www.nseye.com) recently announced the affiliation of corneal specialist, David Immanuel, MD, PhD to their medical staff, according to North Shore Eye Care Medical Director, Jeffrey Martin, MD.
Prior to joining North Shore Eye Care, Dr. Immanuel established a successful ophthalmic practice in Hempstead, NY, where he specialized in the treatment of diagnosis of corneal diseases. “We are very proud to have Dr. Immanuel join our medical staff here at North Shore Eye Care,” said Dr. Martin. “As we continue to expand across Long Island in an effort to provide patients convenient access to leading edge comprehensive eye care, having an office in Hempstead will help round out our island-wide coverage.”
Dr. Immanuel is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is fellowship-trained as a corneal specialist. He has extensive research experience and has published numerous medical articles in peer-reviewed journals. He received his medical training at New York University School of Medicine where he attended the Medical Scientist Training Program and received his MD and PhD degrees.
In addition to graduating Valedictorian from St. Paul's School, he also graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. Dr. Immanuel then completed an internship in medicine at York Hospital and was the Chief Resident at the University of Maryland, where he completed his Ophthalmology residency. After finishing his residency, Dr. Immanuel completed a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive surgery under the tutelage of Dr. Theodore Perl at Corneal Associates of New Jersey.
Dr. Immanuel is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, New York State Ophthalmological Society, American Medical Association, Medical Society of the State of New York and the Nassau County Medical Society.
