Chicago-Based ÄKTA Appoints Art Karoubas as Executive Creative Director
Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) August 19, 2014 -- ÄKTA, leading Chicago-based user experience firm, announced this week the promotion of Art Karoubas to Executive Creative Director. Previously a Senior Experience Director at ÄKTA, Art will now play a crucial role in both internal and external creative operations at the rapidly growing digital experience and engagement consultancy.
Art will spearhead further development of the ÄKTA brand, managing the company’s marketing, public relations, culture and communication, as well as standardizing its voice, collateral, communication standards and quality. Additionally, Art will take direct ownership & management of the User Interface/Visual Design/Marketing teams, from the operational, leadership, process and client delivery perspective. He will oversee all marketing, copywriting, visual design, branding, animation and media-centric team members.
“With his dedication to storytelling and authentic experience design, Art brings color, shape and meaning to every brand he touches, and we are thrilled to have him as a veteran member of our team,” says John Roa, CEO and founder of ÄKTA. “This new role will be pivotal in our growth, both internally and externally, as we capitalize on the importance of our brand, market presence and brand-centric client services.”
Art began his life as a creative pioneer at the age of five, when he closed his lemonade stand for good and opened the first pop-up art gallery on Chicago’s southwest side. His passion for creative entrepreneurialism extended through college and into his professional career. Art reached a major milestone in the midst of the "dot-com" era, with his founding of Verient, Inc., a full-service digital branding, communications, research, design and development consultancy, serving brands such as ABN AMRO, Standard & Poor’s and The Chicago Marathon.
After five years of consistent growth, Art traded the role of digital entrepreneur, in exchange for world travel and meaningful experiences; from running an olive farm in Greece, to telling the complex and fascinating stories of village farmers and urban homeless, through art and copy. Upon returning to the world of consulting, Art broadened his client list, providing cutting-edge creative, marketing and experience direction for corporations such as: JPMorgan Chase, Motorola, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UBS, Met Life, Allstate, General Motors, CDW, Exelon, and Citadel.
