Frederick, MD (PRWEB) August 20, 2014 -- Workforce Solutions Group (WSG), a nonprofit, social enterprise providing staffing and workforce services, formally announced the opening of its new office at 22 South Market Street in Frederick, Maryland. The move reflects a strategic decision by its Board of Directors to expand place-based services beyond the organization’s long-time location in neighboring Montgomery County.
“Our Board believes we can add value as a partner and collaborator in Frederick, and we’re very glad to have a presence in that community now,” Bruce Levine, WSG’s Board chair, declared.
WSG started operations in 2000 as a direct partner with Montgomery County, specifically as the operator if its workforce system. In 2009 the organization altered its focus some to embrace new partners in addition to its efforts on behalf of Montgomery County government and to expand program activities outside its original service borders. In 2014 the Board subsequently approved continued evolution of the organization’s structure, focusing on social enterprise and community improvement as the platform for its jobs- and job-readiness related mission.
WSG’s president, Douglas Propheter, remarked, “Frederick is a vibrant county. Our new Market Street office can help us develop relationships with a robust pool of businesses needing staffing and recruiting support, and we also can link with other community organizations helping less fortunate neighbors attain self-sufficiency.”
WSG is a nonprofit, social enterprise currently focused on service delivery in Montgomery County, Frederick County, and Washington County in Maryland. The organization offers fee-based recruiting and staffing to commercial businesses, nonprofit entities, and government agencies as well as job readiness and similar workforce services aimed at vulnerable populations in those communities. Its hiring efforts can aid any job seeker, but the company emphasizes support and placement for job seekers with barriers to employment.
