Raleigh Personal Injury Law Firm Hardison & Cochran Teams Up with UNC-CH Football to Promote Autism Awareness
Raleigh, North Carolina (PRWEB) August 20, 2014 -- Ben Cochran, managing partner of the Hardison & Cochran law firm in Raleigh, announced today that the firm is joining with the Autism Society of North Carolina and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to raise public awareness of autism, a brain disorder.
“We’re very excited to be teaming up with the Autism Society and UNC Football to raise awareness of autism,” Cochran said. “Our firm is proud to be able to help get the word out statewide about the great things the Autism Society is doing. Helping families in need is our mission.”
Hardison & Cochran is co-sponsoring UNC-CH’s first game of the season against Liberty University, and will pay for autism-awareness commercials during Carolina Football radio broadcasts and Head Coach Larry Fedora’s TV show, and for an advertisement in the game program sold at home games this season.
Autism is one of the most common developmental disabilities and affects an individual’s communication, behavior and social interaction abilities. The Autism Society of North Carolina says more than 60,000 North Carolina residents are living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Autism Spectrum Disorder refers to a group of developmental disabilities – including classic autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS) – that affect a person’s ability to understand what they see, hear and otherwise sense.
The 1 in 58 incidence of autism in North Carolina is more than the national average of 1 out of every 68 children born today.
During the Aug. 30 football game against Liberty, Autism Society staff members will be at Kenan Stadium to answer questions about autism. Cochran and David Laxton of the Autism Society of North Carolina will be presented a game ball on the field during a media timeout.
“It’s not a matter of if you know or love someone affected by autism, but when,” Laxton said. “We sincerely appreciate Hardison & Cochran’s generous sponsorship. Their efforts to promote awareness will help thousands of families in need.”
Specially discounted, $10 tickets to the UNC-CH vs. Liberty game are available through the Autism Society of North Carolina website.
The Hardison & Cochran law firm pursues workers’ compensation, personal injury, wrongful death and Social Security Disability cases on behalf of North Carolina residents.
The Autism Society of North Carolina provides support and promotes opportunities to enhance the lives of individuals within the autism spectrum and their families.
