For Rhode Island based perfumer Charna Ethier, the concept of a Bay Rum scent inspired by local history was intriguing. She began work on her Bay Rum scent using a combination of local essences that were native to New England combined with the exotic spices that were the hallmark of the West Indies spice route. Focusing on creating a classic Bay Rum scent with a unique twist, she collaborated with local single barrel rum makers Thomas Tew, who produce quality rum inspired by the craftsmanship of past time.
Today, Providence Perfume Co. is releasing the new all natural Bay Rum cologne for men created with locally distilled rum, fresh lime, allspice, bay, clove, local sea spray and soft floral notes of ylang ylang and jasmine. Each flask of Bay Rum cologne is bottled with a West Indian bay leaf which infuses the fragrance with its exotic spicy aroma.
