Refinishing is a safe business when all prescribed procedures are followed.
Skokie, IL (PRWEB) August 20, 2014
A careless bathtub refinisher recently sparked an explosion and fire in a San Diego apartment building. The refinisher wasn’t following basic safety procedures. NAPCO makes safety a cornerstone in its popular tub, tile and countertop training classes. Graduates are well aware of the equipment they need, and the procedures they need to follow, in order to ensure the safety of themselves and the workplace.
The refinisher in San Diego wasn’t properly venting dangerous fumes. An electrical spark triggered an explosion and fire. He suffered burns on his arms and was treated at a local hospital. A police officer and resident of the 28 unit building were also treated at the hospital.
NAPCO is an Illinois based supplier of equipment and supplies to refinishers nationwide. NAPCO also provides training for those looking to get into the business. Mike Ripp, Director of Training, thoroughly covers all aspects of safety during the two-day training class. According to Mike, “Refinishing is a safe business when all prescribed procedures are followed. During training, we go over the required equipment and how to utilize it properly. Our graduates have everything they need to safely refinish tubs, tile and countertops.”
