The unmatched quality of the Hampton Lake community, a robust amenities package, and an attractive location minutes from the beaches of Hilton Head Island make Hampton Lake an ideal community for retirement relocation.

As of July 2014, over 700 owners have now purchased property in the Bluffton, South Carolina lakefront community of Hampton Lake. According to a recent Community Summary, 301 total homes have been completed, 61 are under construction, and 8 are in the Architectural Review Board (ARB) submittal process. It’s anticipated there will be an expanded section of the community in 2015 that will include as many as 200 new home sites for sale.

“We believe Hampton Lake’s success is attributable to three important factors,” said Marian Schaffer, Principal and Founder of Southeast Discovery, a company that helps buyers actively looking for a retirement or second home in the Southeast find the right area and community to call home. “First, the unmatched quality of the community, thanks to Reed Group, a successful development company more than 40 years in business, second, a commitment to completing all amenities before any property was offered for sale, and third, an attractive location for retirement and second homes just minutes from the beaches of Hilton Head Island and the culture and history of the towns of Beaufort, SC and Savannah, GA.”

Construction on Hampton Lake began in 2006. Since that time, it has grown into a family-friendly community with a 165-acre freshwater lake made for boating and fishing, pools, clubhouse, workout facility, spa, dog park, boating facility and other resort-like amenities. The close-knit, friendly community is perfect for those seeking an outdoor-oriented, active lifestyle.

In 2008, Hampton Lake earned the Best in American Living (BALA) Award for "Best Community in the U.S." Hampton Lake’s innovative and creative amenity package also received a BALA Award for "Best Facility" for its Amenity Village, which includes the Lake House, Boat House and large outdoor pool with lazy river; Backwater Bill's Restaurant; children’s playground with splash pad; Har-Tru tennis courts; Outpost Campground; a state-of-the-art 13,000 SF fitness facility, and a full-service spa, among other private resort-style offerings. Amenities also include over 300 acres of nature preserves with 11 miles of walking trails.

With the abundance of golf communities in and around the Hilton Head area, Hampton Lake sets itself apart with its recreational lake perfect for low-speed boating and fishing throughout the community. The 165-acre lake also serves as a navigable waterway, giving residents the option to boat to other Hampton Lake waterfront homes or to the community's Amenity Village.

The community is conveniently located in Bluffton, South Carolina just off Highway 278, giving residents easy access to shopping, dining and medical facilities. The vibrant, historic cities of Savannah, Georgia and Beaufort, South Carolina are just 30 minutes away, and the beaches and entertainment of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina are within a short 20-minute drive. Savannah International Airport is approximately half an hour away.

Hampton Lake home sites are priced from the mid-$60s with waterfront home sites priced from the low $120k’s. Home/home site packages are priced from the high-$300k’s to over $1M.
