The Silverbach Group of Kennesaw, Georgia is pleased to announce that Morris A. Nunes, Esq., an attorney specializing in business counseling and transactional work, has become Of-Counsel to the Firm. The Silverbach Group is a leading practice in the areas of Personal Injury, Business and Incorporation, Family Law, Estate Law, Criminal Defense, and Civil Litigation.
Prior to relocating to Georgia in 2012, Mr. Nunes practiced law for 39 years in the Washington, D.C. area. His practice focuses on representing and counseling privately held businesses, their owners and the owners’ families, as well as non-profits and trade associations. His clients range in size from start-up companies to companies grossing in the mid eight figures. He is licensed to practice law in Georgia, Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia, and is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Tax Court, and various other federal Courts.
Mr. Nunes is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, where he concentrated in finance and accounting. He is the author of five books, including Balance Sheet Management, The Right Price for Your Business, and Basic Legal Forms for Business, along with dozens of professional articles. He is currently under publishing contract working on his sixth book.
Mr. Nunes previously taught legal courses at his alma mater, Georgetown. In 2013, he retired as a part-time Adjunct Professor at Catholic University’s Law School and Georgetown University’s MBA Program. He currently lectures as a Continuing Legal Education instructor for Lawline and The National Constitution Center.
Mr. Nunes was appointed and reappointed by Virginia’s Governor as Chair of the Board for Professional and Occupational Regulation, which oversees licensure for commercial activity, including, among others, Realtors, Contractors, Appraisers, Cosmetologists, Architects and Engineers. He has served as a board member of for-profit and non-profit organizations. He has also held security clearance to represent clients engaged in classified work for federal agencies.
Mr. Nunes now brings his wealth of expertise and experience to The Silverbach Group, an established firm in Kennesaw with clients throughout the state of Georgia. He will be joining The Silverbach Group founder, Mr. Ted Silverbach, along with attorneys Mr. William Vincent, Sr., Mr. Matthew Watson, and Ms. Amy L. Pierson.
