Volunteer Efforts of CPCU Society Members Inspire Opportunity to Meet Earvin “Magic” Johnson
Malvern, PA (PRWEB) August 21, 2014 -- The CPCU Society has launched a social media campaign, “The Magical Ways We Transform Lives,” allowing its members to share how their local chapters give back and make a difference in their communities.
This campaign was inspired by Earvin “Magic” Johnson, who will be the keynote speaker for The Institutes’ 2014 Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU®) Conferment Ceremony. This ceremony will kick off the 2014 CPCU Society Annual Meeting, which will take place September 20 to 23 in Anaheim, Calif.
Johnson is most prominently known for his 13-season NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers, but is recognized post-basketball for his work with the Magic Johnson Foundation (MJF), which provides educational programs, services and scholarships to ethnically diverse, urban communities.
The CPCU Society has more than 130 chapters worldwide, the members of which continually coordinate and participate in volunteer projects. The Magical Ways campaign allows Society chapter members to share with other chapter members and Annual Meeting attendees how they are making a difference through their community outreach campaigns known as Good Works Projects.
Over the next several weeks, Society chapters will continue sharing photos of their Good Works Projects through the Society’s Facebook page, and site visitors will be able to vote for their favorite photos. The chapter with the most votes will receive a monetary donation for a local charity from The Institutes and the CPCU Society, and select members will have the opportunity to meet Magic Johnson at The Institutes’ upcoming Conferment Ceremony.
