Together, we will be able to provide countless families transitioning from homelessness into stable housing, with pots and pans to cook with, plates to eat from, and other much needed kitchenware.
Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) August 21, 2014
During the month of September, Didriks, a home furnishings store, and Local Root, the Kitchen Store, will be accepting used dinnerware items and pots and pans from customers in exchange for a 15% discount off of new, corresponding dinnerware and kitchenware items. All used goods will be donated to Furnishing Hope of Massachusetts, Inc., a Cambridge non-profit helping families transition out of homelessness.
Didriks and Local Root are both located on Observatory Hill in Cambridge Massachusetts, and share a second location at The Mill at Newton Lower Falls. This is the third annual Switch Up campaign for Didriks. Details of the campaign are simple. For example, bring in 6 salad plates and receive a 15% discount on 6 new salad plates. Items brought in should be in good condition to be ready for their second life.
Suzy Palitz, the Executive Director of Furnishing Hope, said, "We want to say a big thank you to Didriks and Local Root for partnering with Furnishing Hope of Massachusetts, Inc. for their Switch Up Campaign. Together, we will be able to provide countless families transitioning from homelessness into stable housing, with pots and pans to cook with, plates to eat from, and other much needed kitchenware. We are so grateful!"
About Furnishing Hope
Furnishing Hope of Massachusetts, Inc. is a Cambridge based nonprofit that helps Boston area families transitioning out of homelessness. They partner with local agencies already working with homeless families and together identify those families who have little or no resources to create a home as they move into stable housing. These are the families that don’t have the means to move beyond a life of blankets on the floor masquerading as beds, cardboard boxes pretending to be tables, and clothes stored in trash bags where dressers ought to be. To these families they provide beds to sleep on, tables to eat at, pots and pans to cook with, and more. Furnishing Hope believes that helping families create a home gives them a better chance at rebuilding their lives. Learn more: http://furnishinghopema.org/
