Life Button 24 Partners with Dean College to Better Protect Students
(PRWEB) August 21, 2014 -- Life Button 24 and Dean College of Franklin, Massachusetts are proud to announce today a new partnership aimed at better protecting students both on and off campus.
Life Button 24, creators of a revolutionary new phone app that instantly connects students with safety personnel in an emergency situation, is teaming up with Dean College to pro-actively enhance the safety of its students through a new pilot program. Fisher College, located in Boston, Massachusetts has also partnered with Life Button 24 for a pilot program.
The Life Button 24 app allows students to reach emergency personnel faster during a critical situation. It also provides students with an added layer of protection off campus as well. Life Button 24 can assist any student who may feel that they are in an uncomfortable or potentially dangerous situation on or around campus, visiting Boston or Providence, while at home, on Spring Break or any anywhere in the continental U.S. “We’re excited to work with these colleges as one of the first questions parents of college students ask is, ‘How safe will my child be on your campus?’ said Kenneth F. Mara, president of World Wide Security, the developer of Life Button 24. “Our app is designed to help these students when they need it and provide parents with peace of mind.”
“These are challenging times and we know that violence can occur anywhere,” said Gregory Chalk, Dean College spokesperson. “Providing our students with a safe academic environment is our top priority. Life Button 24 is one of the programs that will allow our students to better protect themselves no matter where they are.”
The Life Button 24 app features two-way communication for students and emergency responders, a silent mode for responders to listen in the event the caller is unable to speak and a video/photo feature that allows students to send images and video of a crisis to emergency responders in real time. Using GPS technology, Life Button 24 can provide law enforcement with the exact location of a student in harm.
As part of the pilot program, Life Button 24 will be made available to all Dean College and Fisher College students beginning this fall.
