My faith in God helped me trudge through the tunnel of darkness and into the light.

She was 12 years old when the unthinkable happened – suddenly struck blind and brain injured after a surgery to correct her frequent headaches failed.

In her new memoir “He Works All Things Together…” author Rebecca Strom-Stewart shares her journey of overcoming devastating obstacles involving dual disability, greed and misguided good intentions that led to a miscarriage of justice for years.

“My faith in God helped me trudge through the tunnel of darkness and into the light,” Strom-Stewart said. “But it took me more than a decade to come out of that fog.”

In her book, she details her mom’s priority of gaining money from her medical lawsuit, experiencing sexual assault at a public school ill equipped for her needs and having a “hardheaded” court-appointed guardian from ages 20 to 27 control her every move.

Strom-Stewart eventually turned to God and broke free from her guardianship, now leading what she calls a blessed and joyful life. She gained professional help to learn to live with her brain injury and, although blind, leads a fully functional, independent life.

“He Works All Things Together…” is a powerful story of faith and endurance.
