Sometimes you have to lose the life of your dreams to live your destiny.
In his new book “From Zero to a Hundred: Finding My Purpose through My Pain,” Jason Roy, a medically retired police officer, shares his story of surviving a broken family, a childhood of gang violence and two life-altering car crashes.
“Adversity brings affirmation of who you were created to be,” Roy said. “I didn’t give up on God when I reached ‘level zero,’ which is why I know my purpose today of helping others overcome their trials.”
He said his own test came after being involved in a near-fatal high-speed chase in the line of duty, in which his patrol car flipped several times before landing in a ditch, trapping him and paralyzing him from the neck down.
Faced with a grim prognosis of a lifetime of paralysis, Roy said he felt like he was at “zero.” Determined to hold his son in his arms again, Roy worked tirelessly to regain his mobility and slowly learned how to walk again, both physically and spiritually.
“From Zero to a Hundred” takes readers on an intimate journey through a disheartening truth that ultimately led to victory. It challenges readers to look outside themselves.
